How we handle your data

Last updated: 14 October 2026

This notice explains what personal data ClimeQuant ("we") collects through climequant.com and the ClimeQuant RE Savings application, why we collect it, and the rights you have under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

What we collect

  • Details you give us in a form: your name, organisation, work email, mobile number, plant locations and details, and any message you write.
  • Your account, if you create one: your email address, and the name, company, role, state and mobile number you give us. We also record when you agreed to this notice.
  • Bulletin subscriptions: your email address, and your name if you give it. We first send a confirmation email, and nothing more until you click its link. Every bulletin carries an unsubscribe link that works with one click. We record when you subscribed, confirmed and unsubscribed, and whether each email we sent you went through (never its contents).
  • Your estimate: the plant details you entered in the calculator and the results shown to you. We store these only if you ask for the full report.
  • Basic request information: the page you submitted from, the referring page and your browser type. This helps us stop spam.

The calculator, the Offer Auditor and the Plant Health Check run in your browser. Nothing you type into them, and no file you open in the Plant Health Check, is sent to us unless you submit a form. If you ask for a review after a health check, we receive only the summary shown on screen. Signing in does not change this.

Cookies

We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in. We use no advertising or tracking cookies.

  • cq_at and cq_rt keep you signed in. They cannot be read by page scripts. The first lasts about an hour; the second lasts 30 days, or until you sign out.
  • cq_hint holds your first name and whether your profile is complete, so pages can show that you are signed in. It lasts 30 days, or until you sign out.

Why we use it

  • To prepare and send the report or bulletin you asked for, and to contact you about it.
  • To answer your enquiry and discuss your renewable energy procurement.
  • To run your account: to sign you in, show you the full results, and fill in your details on request forms.
  • To keep a record of our conversations with you.

We process your data on the basis of the consent you give when you submit a form. We do not sell your data. We do not use it for advertising profiles.

Who we share it with

We share your details with renewable energy developers or other third parties only when you ask us to, for example to obtain offers for your plant, and only as far as needed. Service providers process data on our behalf to run this service: the company that hosts our server, where the website and its database run, and our email provider. They are bound by contract to protect it.

How long we keep it

We keep your account until you delete it. We may also delete it after 24 months without a sign-in, after warning you by email. We keep enquiry and report data for up to 24 months after our last contact with you. We keep newsletter subscriptions until you unsubscribe. We delete data sooner if you ask, unless the law requires us to keep it longer.

Your rights

You can ask us to tell you what personal data we hold about you, to correct or complete it, or to erase it. You can withdraw your consent at any time, including by unsubscribing from the newsletter. Withdrawal does not affect anything we did before you withdrew. You can also nominate another person to exercise these rights on your behalf.

You can correct your details or delete your account at any time on your account page. Deleting it erases your account, your profile and the requests linked to it.

To exercise any of these rights or to raise a grievance, write to ClimeQuant@gmail.com. We will respond within the time the law requires. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may complain to the Data Protection Board of India.

Security

Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). It is stored in a database that the public cannot read and that only authorised team members can access.

Changes

We will update this notice when our practices change and show the new date at the top.
